Horse Art Contest - Design MARE Center Holiday Card

Extension's MARE Center in Middleburg is having an art contest for 4-H youth to design their 2008 holiday cards. If you can draw a horse, horse scene, or other horse-related picture, this is a great way for you to get exposure to hundreds of horse industry supporters. There is no money involved, but your image will be mass-produced and distributed. Contact kaci@vt.edu or call 672-1361 for contest rules and entry info.

Buy a Clover at Orange-Madison Co-op; Support 4-H!

Local Southern States dealer, Orange-Madison Co-op, is selling paper clovers for just $1 each. Proceeds benefit the National 4-H Council and local 4-H programs. These clovers are similar to other charities' fund drives at retail stores. Customers buy a clover for $1, write their name on the clover, and then Co-op employees will post the clovers on the walls and windows as advertisement of your support.

National 4-H Week is next week; so visit the Co-op today and help support this generous fundraiser!

A deal that has long been in the works, the Emerson Charitable Trust announced today that Emerson company has donated 100 acres of land on Old Gordonsville Road to the Orange County Fair. This permanent home for the fair will allow for better infrastructure, permanent buildings, and a host of other community events throughout the year. What good news!!!
