ORANGE COUNTY 4-H GOAT CLUB TOURS USDA LAB IN WARRENTON

On April 24th, the Orange County 4-H Goat Club took a field trip to the USDA lab in Warrenton. Several members and their families attended. We were given a tour by Dr. McGurra, the labs' director. Some of the labs included the Parasitological lab, the milk testing lab, and the Necropsy lab. The tour was very interesting and informative. Members learned many things related to the care of their animals.

RAMEYS TRAVEL TO SOUTH CAROLINA FOR THE SOUTHERN REGIONAL HORSE SHOW

The Southern Regional 4-H Horse Show was held July 27-August 1 in Clemson, SC. Participating from Orange were Ashleigh and Bryan Ramey from the Orange County Hoofmates Club. Following are the results:


Bryan Ramey on Just Dreamin':
7th (out of 19) in Dressage, First Level Test 2
12th (out of 53) in Hunter Geldings Halter

Ashleigh Ramey on Bold Liberty:
10th (out of 19) in Dressage, First Level Test 2
9th (out of 53) in Hunter Geldings Halter
7th (out of 176) in Hunt Seat Equitation
2nd (out of 33) in Open Jumping - they went double clean and missed 1st by less than 1/2 a second.
They also made it to the Semi-Finals in Hunter Under Saddle by being 1 of 2 choosen out of their preliminary heat of 20.
