Ramey Ranks in Top 15 in Southern Region

Congratulations to Orange 4-H Hoof Mates member Bryan Ramey and his horse Fenway Armani!  They were in the Top 15 in Hunter Halter Geldings and Hunter Under Saddle at the recent Southern Region 4-H Horse Championships.  The event features top 4-H riders from 13 Southern states.

Photography Contest Open to All 4-H Members

There’s a special 4-H photography contest open to all 4-H members, not just horse project members, that will be held in conjunction with the State 4-H Horse Show in Lexington, VA.  Complete rules for the contest, including the entry form, can be found here.  Entries are due in the horse show office by 6:00 PM on Thursday, September 13, 2012, or can be mailed to the Fluvanna Extension Office before the show.

4-H Funday Show at State Fair

Save the date for a special 4-H past/present/future horse show at the State Fair of Virginia on October 7.  This show is not just for current 4-H members but veteran members, leaders, parents and other 4-H volunteers-current and former.  A lead line for Cloverbuds.  Parents only class.  Over 31 (years of age) opportunities to show you still got it or pretend you do.   And several therapeutic classes for special riders.  Classes for minis and the Chase Me Charlie Challenge for jumpers.  So circle the date and plan on coming to the State Fair and having fun.  Please pass on to your broader 4-H community, past and present.  The show is being planned and coordinated by Southeast District 4-H volunteers.
