Crazy Pets Club Visit Bee Hive to Kick Off the New 4-H Year

It's not an everyday occurrence for a 4-H member to be able to visit a honey bee hive, but that's just what the Crazy Pets Club is planning to do next week!  Members will start off the 2013 4-H year with a fun, outdoorsy field trip.  For more information about this club, please contact the Extension office.  Crazy Pets meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.

4-H Homemakers Club Meeting

Reminder- the 4-H Homemakers Club will have their first meeting tonight at 7 p.m. at the extension office.  For all members who started working on a t-shirt quilt, they will be continuing to work on that.  However, they are looking for new members who would be interested in joining, and any new individuals will be making blackberry jam tonight!

Citizenship Washington Focus Presents Wonderful Opportunity for Senior Level Youth

Attention, senior level 4-H members! Citizenship Washington Focus (CWF) is a week-long 4-H citizenship program for youth ages 14-19 that takes place at the National 4-H Youth Conference Center<http://www.4hcenter.org/>, just 1 mile from the Washington, <x-apple-data-detectors://3> DC border.

Every summer, thousands of young people participate in the program, which provides opportunities for them to:

* strengthen their communication, leadership, and citizenship skills on a national level
* understand the importance of civic and social responsibilities as they relate to the development of better citizens and leaders
* exchange ideas, practice respect, and form friendships with other youth from diverse backgrounds.
* experience hands-on learning using the historical backdrop of Washington, DC

* CWF participants enjoy:

* a behind-the-scenes look at our nation's capital and the chance to meet Members of Congress
