4-H Natural Horse Addicts Club Completes Service Project to Provide Safe Winter Shelter for Feral Cats

Six members and two volunteers from the Orange 4-H Natural Horse Addicts club completed a service project on Saturday, November 8th to help the group Shadow Cat Advocates create winter shelters to be placed in various locations for feral cat populations. Many of the cats had already been through the Trap-Neuter-Return program. SCA's mission is to promote that program as well as to aid, assist, protect and defend feral cats throughout the Counties of Stafford and Spotsylvania, and the City of Fredericksburg.

The 4-H members brought tools, gloves and a willing attitude to SCA's winter shelter building party and were instrumental in the layout, building and completion of five new insulated cat shelters! Members who attended this event were: Eryn Connell, Anna Ehrenberg, Amna Akram, Arooba Khan, Camille Thionville, and Zoe Thompson. Adult volunteers Resi Connell and BJ Schmeider attended the event as well.
