Haley Wilbanks One of Six Teens Honored at Outstanding Virginian Day

Congratulations to Haley Wilbanks who was recently selected as one of six outstanding 4-H youths in northern Virginia.  Her award was presented during a presentation naming former Lieutenant Governor John Hager as the 2012 Outstanding Virginian; the event was held at the Northern Virginia 4-H Educational Center in Front Royal.  Wilbanks was recognized for her accomplishments in numerous 4-H events as well as her demonstration of the six pillars of character—Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship.

 

Wilbanks, who attends boarding school at St. Andrews School in Middletown, Delaware,  has remained active in Orange County 4-H while away at school, including as a 4-H Junior Camp counselor and an Orange delegate to State 4-H Congress. She has been a member of the Livestock Judging team, and is very active in the Orange County Fair where last year she helped raise hundreds of dollars through the Kiss-A-Cow contest.  Additionally, Haley has competed in county and state level 4-H public speaking contests.
