States’ 4-H International Exchange Programs is searching for Host Families for seven male Japanese exchange students! The students will stay with their American host families from July 21 to August 17, 2014. Host families are some of the most important and generous volunteers, fostering cultural exchange between multiple countries and a desire to promote cross-cultural understanding. Our students are 13 and 14 years old, speak some English, are fully insured medically, and bring their own money for personal expenses. As a Host Family, your exchange student becomes a member of your family. Our Host Families reflect the diversity of American culture! Host Families provide a bed (students do not need their own room), three meals a day and loving support, as well, a desire to share American culture and learn about a new one. Host Families may select a student that best fits in with their own family. The program is open to families with male children between the ages of 11 and 16. You don’t have to be involved with 4-H to host; you just need a willingness to share your home and your world. It is a wonderful opportunity for the entire family.
