VSU- Summer Enrichment Program in Agriculture and Environmental Science

Virginia State University is hosting a Summer Enrichment Program in Agriculture and Environmental Science June 22-26 on their campus.  You will gain hands-on experience with the world around you through VSU's innovative agriculture and environmental science programs.  During the five day program, participants will learn from experts through experiential learning activities (classroom, lab, and field) about:
- healthy lifestyle habits
- exploring aquatic plants and animals
- water and environmental issues
- food and ornamental crops production
- animal production and handling
- resume building and interviewing skills
- life as a college student
- career opportunities with the USDA and other federal, state, and private industry jobs

Application requirements: Admission is restricted to rising high school juniors and seniors interested in STEAM disciplines: science, technology, engineering, agriculture, and math.  Students are required to submit a one-page essay covering career goals and reasons for interest in the summer enrichment program.  This program is FREE for all eligible students, and up to two scholarships will be rewarded to participants who later enroll in VSU's Department of Agriculture.
