2015 Virginia Lamb and Goat Symposium at VT

The 2015 Virginia Lamb & Goat Symposium will be held on Saturday, June 27th at the Alphin-Stuart Arena on the campus of VA Tech.  This event is open to all bonafide 4-H and FFA youth in the state of Virginia and features a livestock show for market lambs, commercial ewes, market goats, and commercial does, as well as showmanship for both lamb and goat exhibitors.  In addition to the livestock evaluation there is also a youth skill-a-thon contest open to both exhibitors and non-exhibitors.  The link below will take you to the Virginia 4-H Livestock website where you will find the rules/regulation and on-line entry process for this event.  Regular entry closes on June 22nd with a late entry and double entry fee accepted through the day of the show.

This show is also one of the seven qualifying shows for the recently formed Virginia Showmasters Circuit that rewards Virginia youth showing lambs and goats for outstanding showmanship performance and animal management throughout the show season.  The awards for this program will be announced at the 2015 State Fair of Virginia Market Lamb Show.
