4-H All Star Workshop to be Held for Interested Youth and Parents

Being inducted into the Virginia chapter of 4-H All Stars is the highest honor a Virginia 4-H member can achieve. All Stars have a motto of service and represent the best of the best 4-H members. Nominations are accepted each October with tapping to occur the following June for those who are selected.

There is a very specific form for the nomination process, and inductees must achieve a minimum of 80 out of 130 possible points. 4-H youth are recognized for participation in educational events, leadership, community service, competitions, and more. The form can be somewhat confusing, so to that end, there will be a 4-H All Star form workshop Thursday, September 15, at 6:00 p.m. at the Extension office. Participants must pre-register by calling 672-1361. Parents are welcome and encouraged!

Any age member is welcome to attend because the nomination form is based on one's entire 4-H career. It's best to start early!!! Old record books will be very helpful for remembering what you have done in your 4-H career.

This year's nominees must be at least 15 years old and have completed at least three years in 4-H. The Virginia 4-H All Stars website is a great place to start for information and to download the nomination form in Microsoft Excel.
