March 5 Deadline for Declaring Interest in Tractor Operators Contest

Excitingly, we've had some local interest in the 4-H Tractor Operators' Contest. The state contest will be Thursday, April 18, at 2:00 p.m. in Harrisonburg. We can send two youth from Orange. If we have more than two people interested, we will hold a local contest as a qualifying event to determine our state representatives.

The contest consists of a written exam, identification of tractor parts, operating a 30-60 horsepower tractor with a two-wheel implement attached, and operating a tractor with a four-wheel implement attached. If you wish to participate as an Orange 4-H youth in the tractor operators' contest, contact the Extension office by Tuesday, March 5. This will determine our next course of action.
