Archers Earn Ribbons in District Shoot

  By Rylyn Deeds, Club Reporter

On August 13, 2022 seven members of the Orange County 4-H Archery Club competed in the district shoot held at the Cedar Mountain Youth Inc. range. Members competed in Junior Compound, Senior Bowhunter Compound, National Compound, and National Recurve classes.

Archers had three minutes to shoot five arrows at four distances each. Juniors shot 10, 15, 20, and 25 yards. Senior Bowhunters shot 15, 20, 25, and 30 yards. National Compound and Recurve both shot 30, 40, 50, and 60 meters. In the end, Orange Archery took home two gold ribbons, two silver ribbons, two bronze ribbons, and one green ribbon. Three club members also medaled in their classes, taking home first in National Recurve, second in National Compound, and Third in Senior Bowhunter Compound!

The club is very proud of their archers, especially the ones who've never been in an archery competition before. We can't wait to see what else they accomplish in the coming 4-H year!
