Bit N Bridle Club Earns Ribbons at State EquiSmartz Event

The members of Orange 4-H Bit N Bridle have been busy this competition season! Last weekend, they attended EquiSmartz in Lexington, VA, and earned the following awards.


In the Horse Bowl knowledge competition, the Orange juniors finished fourth. Olivia Clary finished eighth as an individual. Lone Orange senior Emily Wright joined forces with Caroline County 4-H, and they finished second as a team Emily was the first place individual, earning $125 cash prize and an embroidered bridle bag. Congrats!

The Hippology contest was held Saturday afternoon, and the Orange junior team placed 5th in team stations, 7th in team horse judging, 1st in team problem, and fourth overall. Olivia Clary was 7th high individual for stations.

Horse Judging took place Sunday. Olivia Clary placed 6th in junior individuals. The Orange junior team placed 3rd in performance, 10th in halter, 9th in reasons, and 8th overall. In the senior division, Orange's Emily Wright again paired with Caroline County 4-H. Their team placed 2nd in halter, 3rd in performance, 1st in reasons, and 2nd overall.

The club will compete again this Saturday in horse communications contests in Stanardsville. Good luck!
