Virginia 4-H Pork Challenge Contest

Exciting news about another challenge!

Please save the date of August 28, 2021 for the Virginia 4-H Pork Challenge Contest. This contest will be held in-person and will begin at 10:00 AM at the Carver Center in Culpeper, VA. To stay in accordance with our COVID guidelines, interested youth will be able to compete individually or as a pair, and this contest will be open to any Virginia 4-H member between the ages of 9 and 19.

Similar to our Food Challenge Contest and the Virginia 4-H Beef Challenge, youth will be assigned a cut of pork and will use their creativity to create a dish using pork as the main ingredient. Contestants will then have one hour to prepare their dish and plan a five-minute presentation inclusive of how they prepared the pork, ingredients used, nutritional and food safety elements, etc. At the end of the one-hour timeframe, all contestants will give their presentation to a panel of judges.

For now, please save the date. More information regarding the rules and registration information will be forth coming soon.

Please let Tonya Price
