I am pleased to announce that there are four country options from
which Virginia 4-H teens may choose for an international outbound experience in
2017. These include Costa Rica, Finland, South Korea, and Japan.
Japan has two options: a one-month stay with one host family and Labo
Camp, or a two-month experience which starts with a host family stay in the
Tokyo area while attending classes at the Labo main office for part of each day
to learn the Japanese language, culture, and customs followed by a second host
family stay in another area of Japan and Labo camp.
Flyers are attached describing each of these opportunities.
For further information and application forms, please contact Judy Ann Fray for
the Japanese Exchanges and Dottie Nelson for the other countries. Their
contact information i! s below. Application forms should be turned in to
the state coordinator below on or before November 16, 2016. Please share
this information with teens and parents who you believe may be
interested. Chaperones are also needed for these trips. Anyone
interested in applying as a chaperone may also contact Dottie Nelson for info
and application forms.
