Highlighting Class of '22 4-H Graduates: Sadie Wentz

Sadie Wentz is a senior 4-H member of the Orange County Livestock Club. 4-H has always been a thing that Sadie looks forward to, especially in the summer with the fair and other 4-H events. Sadie has shown at the county fair all her life and some of Sadie’s best memories have been made in 4-H. Sadie has also been inducted as a 4-H All Star, the highest honor in Virginia 4-H recognizing service to her club, community, and state.

Sadie is a member of the club’s livestock judging team where she won the state judging contest earlier this year. Sadie has always loved caring for, showing, and judging livestock. Her favorite memory of a show isn't one of her winning, it was one where her brother won with a bottle baby sheep that she passed over and decided not to show. Sadie said, “It was very interesting as that baby did not look amazing, but my brother worked hard with it and turned it around, and he beat me!” Even though Sadie didn't win, she was proud of her little brother.

Currently, Sadie is a student at Fort Scott Community College in Kansas where she is a member of their Judging Team. Sadie is aspiring to go to Virginia Tech to study Dairy Science. She has also expressed an interest in working in the medical field. To Sadie, a lot of experiences in 4-H have driven her toward interests that she has today. Sadie will never forget all the fun times she had in 4-H and the friends that she made. 4-H is something that has always been a part of her life and she will miss dearly. We wish Sadie nothing but the best in her next steps.
